Wood Brothers to Unveil Darlington Throwback Scheme at Hall of Fame

21 Ryan BlaneyMost of the field has already revealed their throwback paint schemes for the 2017 running of Darlington Raceway-based Bojangles’ Southern 500, but a few have yet to be revealed. This includes the single-car Wood Brothers No. 21 piloted by Ryan Blaney. The team will reveal their No. 21 Motorcraft Ford Fusion throwback paint scheme this coming Tuesday, August 21 at 2pm.

This afternoon, the NASCAR Hall of Fame sent out a public invite asking fans to come out for the reveal. NASCAR Hall of Fame guests are invited to come Tuesday, joining Leonard, Len and Eddie Wood for the throwback reveal. Additionally, Edsel Ford and Kyle Petty are also scheduled to be on hand for the paint scheme unveil and a special sponsor announcement. Kyle Petty’s addition to the guest list makes us think the throwback will be in the style of one of Petty’s former race cars.

Celebrating Nearly 100 Wins

In addition to get to witness the paint scheme reveal within the Hall of Fame, the Ford-powered team will be celebrating their closing in on 100 wins in the NASCAR premier series over the history of the team. In celebration of Wood Brothers Racing’s total of 99 premier series wins, the first 99 fans who purchase a ticket at the box office will receive a Wood Brothers gift bag and will be able to stick around for autographs after the media activities.

The NASCAR Hall of Fame box office opens at 10 a.m.

Ryan Blaney’s Participation in Reveal

No mention was made on whether driver Ryan Blaney would be present, but the No. 21 driver is often at the Hall of Fame to record his podcast, Glass Case of Emotion. His fellow hosts are Kim Coon, and Chuck Bush. Even if Blaney is not present at the reveal, expect Blaney and the rest of the crew to discuss it at least briefly on their next podcast.
