Stewart-Haas Racing has had its share of press conferences over the course of the last few months. First they announced Danica Patrick’s contract extension and new sponsorship.
Then, it was Tony Stewart’s retirement and Clint Bowyer taking over the ride in 2017. Then defending champion Kevin Harvick revealed the Anheuser-Busch brand being switched for 2016 from Budweiser over to Busch.
Now the other loose end out of the four car team is Kurt Busch. Tomorrow’s press conference, scheduled for noon ET is expected to tie everything up for the No. 41 driver, including a formal contract extension (Busch has been quoted as having a handshake deal in place) and sponsorship going forward, rumored to be Monster Energy, a long time Xfinity sponsor for brother Kyle Busch, and an associate sponsor for the elder Busch brother.
No word has been given yet on how Monster Energy and Bowyer’s longtime sponsor, 5 Hour Energy will co-exist under the SHR roof. It also has not yet been established if Monster Energy will continue sponsoring the No. 54 in the Xfinity series simultaneously with the No. 41 in the Sprint Cup Series.
