Kahne’s Throwback No. 5 Honors HMS History

Hendrick Motorsports No 5 ThrowbackCasual NASCAR fans are going to be lost this weekend at Darlington Raceway, as a lot of the Sprint Cup pack will be sporting throwback/tribute paint schemes.

Just announced this morning was Kasey Kahne’s No. 5 throwback paint scheme honoring the history of Hendrick Motorsports. Kahne’s paint scheme is a tribute to Geoff Bodine’s 1984 All-Star car, and includes the iconic red star with four stripes running down the quarter panel. The car number is even utilizing the font style used in ’84.

Kahne’s car is promoting HendrickRideAlong.com which gives a lucky race fan the opportunity to win an all-expenses-paid trip to Charlotte, North Carolina and includes a ride along, travel, accommodations, with a full behind-the-scenes tour of Hendrick Motorsports.
