David Ragan on Bristol Motor Speedway

David Ragan 38 Juice BatteryThe second Bristol Motor Speedway race of the season is on tap this weekend for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. David Ragan said he’s ready to make his mark at Saturday night’s race.

“Bristol is one of my favorite short tracks,” Ragan said.

“It’s our team owner, Bob Jenkins’, home track, so it’s a significant race for us.”

Ragan said that his Front Row Motorsports team and organization have had their share of success at the Tennessee short track.

“I’ve run well there with the Front Row team, and it’s been one of the more consistent tracks where we can run in the top 15 or top 20. So, I look forward to going to Bristol with our Juice Battery team,” Ragan said.

Ragan added that while the Bristol Spring 2017 race was a little calmer than normal, the small confines of the short track can make the race a bit wild.

“I don’t know if that’s just an illusion because it’s a day race. But there’s something about racing at a short track under the lights with a lot of people in attendance — it’s exciting. And drivers know that we’re winding down the regular season, and it may be one of their last opportunities to get a win, or even to get a top-five or top-10. So, I think we’re all a little more aggressive and a little more hyped up about racing on Saturday night.”

Trackside Appearance

Ragan will have a meet and greet appearance this evening, Thursday, Aug. 17 from 5-6pm at Food City Race Night in Downtown Bristol.

Race Schedule

Qualifying for the Bristol night race will be Friday, August 18th at 5:45 ET, being broadcast on NBCSN. The Bass Pro Shops NRA Night race will be the following evening at 7:30pm ET, broadcast on NBC.
